Real Prize Halts New York Operations, Leaving Customers Stranded

Real Prize users in New York are feeling abandoned after the sweepstake casino, operated by RealPlay Tech, ceased operations a day earlier than initially promised. This abrupt shutdown prevented many users from cashing out their Sweepstake Coin (SC) balances. Despite the company’s March 28th deadline, customer screenshots and reports indicate that access to accounts ended prematurely on March 27th. In an email to its affected patrons, Real Prize acknowledged the miscommunication but attributed the early exit to unavoidable system changes. The company emphasized that despite the mix-up, minimum cashout limits remained applicable and that the decision to close was irreversible.

Real Prize isn’t alone in its quick exit from New York, spurred by impending legislation aimed at banning sweepstake casinos. With Sen. Joseph Addabbo Jr. leading the charge, many sweepstake operators are pre-emptively shutting down their operations in the state. Some sites have allowed users until April to cash out, providing more flexibility, but others, like Real Prize, enforced tighter deadlines, sparking indignation among their users. Complaints and warnings have begun to surface on social media and forums, urging players to withdraw their funds promptly to avoid getting caught in another sudden shutdown.
