The Bryan Police Department’s Directed Deployment Team (DDT) conducted these raids following a tip about businesses offering illegal 8-liner machines. Undercover agents were deployed, leading to the discovery of gambling dens equipped not only with 8-liner machines but also “pay out” machines. This setup categorically constitutes illegal gambling under state law. As a result, 26 8-liner machines and eight pay out machines were seized, alongside nearly $64,500 believed to be illicit gambling proceeds.
