On 3 June 2024, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) Narcotics Unit executed a high-profile raid at Showtime Casino, located at 3012 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte, Florida. This decisive operation was a direct response to a flurry of tips and complaints about illegal gambling activities, which pose a significant threat to consumer safety and disrupt the local community. The investigation initially kicked off with a visit to Arcade Headquarters at 1152 Tamiami Trail, where detectives observed unlawful gambling on slot machines. The clerk on duty received a Notice to Appear for their role as an employee of a gambling house, creating a ripple effect that caused other gaming establishments in town to swiftly close their operations and advise their patrons to leave.
